WHY TRAIN HERE?
January 1, 2014
It's a fair question, so one I wanted to answer!
We are a traditional martial arts club, which means that the values of respect, diligent work ethics, clean uniforms and great well executed techniques are paramount to us.
"Traditional" has become a dirty word in some quarters of late with the popularity of Mixed Martial Arts and cage fighting, but tradtional ju jitsu has been offering "mixed martial arts" for hundreds of years. Our syllabus has always contained;
- Joint Locks
- Cardiovascular workouts
- Muscle building
- Core strength work
Ju Jitsu was developed by the Bushi or warriors of the Kamakura period circa 1185 - 1333.
Originally designed for warriors who had lost their weapons in battle, it now also incorporates weapons techniques.
Today it is an art for all to enjoy, from the very young to the very old. You will find two martial arts clubs in Coalville training kids from the age of 6 thru to adults up to 60 and beyond.
Ju Jitsu is a great way to keep fit and to find focus and it is absolutely fantastic for SELF DEFENCE. Ju Jitsu is one of the few martial arts that can actually be used out in the real world to protect yourself.
