December 2012Congratulations to Lee Matson on earning your black belt (1st Dan) on 2nd December 2012. December 2011Well done Tim Marson on getting your black belt (1st Dan) in December. Tim has been working hard towards his black belt and after 5 years of training he reached 1st Dan status at Warrior Martial Arts in Nottingham under the examiner Sensei Steve Ainscough 6th Dan.
Tim has been a diligent student with Leicester Jujitsu since 2006 and took his very first belt (red) on the 21/09/06 getting a credit (I wonder if he can remember that first grading?). Since then Tim’s grading results have been consistent always being of credit or honours level. He has been enthusiastic at training and very coachable which has meant that he has reached a very high standard of black belt that he should be very proud of. We are, and it has been a pleasure to coach Tim to this level.
We’re sure Tim will now have some pearls of wisdom of how he made it and would be only too willing to share them with you, so why not shake his hand and ask what his keys to success are.
We can’t wait to see what he does next with the knowledge and skill he has gained. The natural progression is weapons and 2nd Dan but we hope to see him take a look at teaching and put into the art his take on the techniques involved in Jujitsu. July 2011
James has worked hard over the past 2 years to gain his second dan, gaining experience through teaching students and being an able assistant in both class and during courses to Sensei Robert Phelps. We look forward to him working towards his 3rd dan which will take another 3 years of hard work and dedication, and it’s worth it. December 2010
This is the culmination of four years of hard work and countless hours of training to achieve this high standard and join the elite in the martial arts world, all 3 train at both clubs every week. Teile is only 12 and is the youngest black belt of the club, she began training at the age of 8, and she shows good style and enthusiasm for the sport. Paul had previously trained in judo but after a long break turned to Ju Jitsu and has never looked back. He enjoys the street-defence practical nature of the art and forward to starting weapons training. Amanda is married to sensei Phelps, had no previous martial arts experience and took up the sport as a new year resolution 4 years ago which was a big surprise to Sensei Amanda will continue to train towards her 2nd Dan and to coach at both clubs. |
