Junior Leader Training 2009

July 2009 has seen an update to our junior leader status. Congratulations to Morgan Phelps, Kelly Newbold and Kyle Narczyk who passed the day long course at the Hombu on 4th July 2009 to become full Junior Leaders. We would also like to welcome Teile Narczyk to the junior leader program, she also attended the courses in Chesterfield and has become an Assistant Junior leader. Leicester Jujitsu's 2010 junior leaders are;

You will see these juniors assisting Sensei Phelps during training session on Mondy and Friday evenings. If you find yourself under their instruction, please show them as much consideration and respect as you do your Sensei.

If you are under 16 years old and you would like to be an assistant junior leader in the future then this is what you need to know; once you have past your purple belt grading, let your Sensei know that you would like to learn to be an assistant junior leader, he will arrange for you to attend a course in Chesterfield and help you with your studies.

The responsibilities of an assistant junior leader is to set a good example to other students, help other students with their training, assist and support their Sensei during training sessions. Becoming an assistant junior leader is a great way of learning how to become part of team, gain teaching skills and understand Ju Jitsu a lot more in depth. It is also a lot of fun.

GCSE PE
As you move into year 9 at school you will be thinking about your subject choices for year 10. If you’re making your subject choices for GCSE and are considering PE, then are you aware that one of your 4 sports within the PE module could be Ju Jitsu! The WJJF have submitted the WJJF syllabus to Ed Excel (the examination board) and it has been approved. So provided you are blue belt or above prior to the time when you will sit your GCSE then you can use your Ju Jitsu as one of your sports. Please ask Sensei if you would like more details.
